Actually, our product range already includes one of the world’s stiffest, most lightweight and comfortable hardtail bikes: Our famous CARBON FLX has been providing the basis for five World and European Championship titles (respectively) as well as stunning 16 World Cup wins!
So why should we reduce frame weight by another 200 g, while increasing BB stiffness by nearly 30 %? What’s the reason for developing a frame design making rugged trails feel even more comfortable, while our FLX already delights with outstanding results also in this respect?
The organisers of the British Mountain Bike Series together with 8 of the leading bike brands to create an unrivalled demo package. Not only are we working with great brands but we're doing it at Britain's biggest race series so you get a unique opportunity to demo, ride, watch and even race.
The venues are great and all the weekend events have free camping (no camping at Glentress) so you can really take your time and enjoy the weekend. If that's not enough for you then throw in the fact the demos are free, spectating is free and even camping is free. All you need to do is show up, ride bikes, watch races and enjoy yourself...if that's not too much to ask. The demo route will be totally separate to the race course so no need to worry about your speed...
Whilst you're trying out the bikes there is also a chance to try out the latest nutrition products from Accelerade and the new range of hydration units from Osprey backpacks.
The Boring Bits: Please remember demo bikes are only available to riders aged 18 or over and 2 forms of ID will be required for you to try out a bike. You must bring either a passport or driving licence and a credit card/utility bill, No ID no bikes i'm afraid.
The Good Bits: So check out all the brand profiles to see what bikes will be on offer and then check the map profile for the schedule and details of each event weekend.
The Series now consists of 6 demo events, 5 rounds of the British XC series and 3 challenge events, so race, ride, watch or demo....or all of those.
James Olsen from Genesis was keen to jump on board ''Genesis is pleased to announce that we've signed up for the demo events at each round of the 2010 British MTB Race series. It's the ideal place for us to give you a chance to ride a 2010 Genesis bike, or just come over and say hi if you're there. The main attraction of this series as a demo event was that the organisers have pulled together the UK XC race scene by hosting XC and Enduro events in the same weekend. We think this will mean more appeal to spectators and riders and hopefully it'll be a return to the race weekend atmosphere of the early days - we're looking forward to it."
Santa Cruz “Santa Cruz is very excited at being involved in such a high profile demo series which will enable more people than ever before the chance to ride some of the best bikes at the best venues across the country. Demo-ing bikes is a crucial part of what we do, and combined with the British XC race series, this not only offers more riders the chance to try before they buy – it also gives them the whole weekend package of riding, racing and spectating.”
